When the so-called Harajuku culture was at its infancy more than a decade ago, both Jun Takahashi and Nigo worked side-by-side in forging the foundation, which many upcoming Japanese designers enjoy today, before going separate ways. Takahashi refined his style with avant garde flair in Paris while Nigo created a streetwear empire back in Tokyo.
So in many ways, this collaborative project between UNDERCOVER and A Bathing Ape resembles a reunion of 2 industry veterans. Deconstructed to a bare minimum, each of the 3 UNDERCOVER x BAPE SKULLSTA Sneakers composed of premium suede in contrast colors. Etched around the heel tab, side wall and tongue is the UNDERCOVER’s abbreviation “URCR”, sizing and the slogan “Less But Better”. Now available in extremely limited quantity at UNDERCOVERISM online shop in ZOZO shopping network.
